Araya is Ryōshū's daughter and a major character in Canto IX. She grew up inside the House of Spiders and was the one peaceful part of her mother's life. For most of Canto IX she appears in the form of the former Dihui Star.

Personality
As a child Araya was sunny and cheerful, even among the Nursefathers, and she loved school and teaching her mother slang. After a long stay in a vault she became jaded and bitter, feeling forgotten, yet she still longs for her mother's love and to be recognized.
Story (spoilers)
Ryōshū hid Araya in a vault to protect her. Though only two years passed outside, Araya became caught in the flow of time and lived every age of her life at once at varying moments. Believing her mother had forgotten her, she grew embittered and sided with the House of Spiders, taking the role of the Pinky Nursefather in hopes of reuniting with Ryōshū. She wears the appearance of the Dihui Star, whom Ryōshū killed years earlier, and carries that star's white ōdachi. When she finally faces her mother she quietly wishes to be recognized despite the disguise. After Canto IX she becomes the scabbard E.G.O Renketsuen and stays conscious through it.
