Adventurous, fiery and fond of riddles and inventing as a child, though sheltered and afraid of the dark manor. Story (spoilers)
Catherine loved Heathcliff but believed they could not live well while her brother controlled her, so she weighed marrying Edgar Linton for the means to help them both. After Heathcliff left, her health declined. In the Mirror Worlds she met an Identity calling herself Every Catherine, who pushed her to give up her life and make a contract with Hermann, linked to the creation of the laboratory. She still asked for Linton's hand to carry that plan on, without foreseeing Hermann's ulterior motives. During Canto VI she reaches out through her diary as Heathcliff falls into Distortion, and again after Nelly's betrayal, using shared memories to convey her love. She admits to Dante that she was never brave enough to be honest. Inspired by Heathcliff's courage, she finally says it, and is erased via Golden Bough synchronization, departing at peace.
