Story (spoilers)
Moses was an abandoned child raised by Dias, whose wishes shaped her entire worldview. As captain of the Udjat she obeyed orders to kill innocents. Ezra, a young recruit, challenged that, planting doubt. During the Smoke War a mission went wrong, and Moses led her whole Office to death, saving only herself, Ezra and Han Hee-joon. She broke with Dias and joined the Seven Association, then formed her own Office as the Distortion Detective. She sees resolving Distortions as a way to quiet her guilt. Her churchwarden pipe is a Psychoment whose pale breath costs her lifespan, and her right arm was later replaced by a prosthetic.
