Ran is a member of the Technology Liberation Alliance and a former K Corp. researcher who grew disillusioned with how people use technology. She is a minor antagonist in Canto IV. She is talkative and enjoys toying with her opponents.

Personality
Intelligent and talkative, Ran enjoys playing with people and holds strong anti-technology convictions. She loved science from a young age and speaks down to those who do not see her view. She often strikes up conversations with the Sinners even as an enemy.
Story (spoilers)
Ran was a Senior Researcher at K Corp. and for a time Shrenne's mentor, until she turned against the corporation and technology itself. She joined the Technology Liberation Alliance and told Dongbaek the truth about K Corp.'s regeneration ampules. She stayed in touch with Shrenne by email. In Canto IV she and Marile meet the Sinners during an Alliance attack, in a move planned with Shrenne to infiltrate K Corp. Later she waits for the Sinners at the edge of the L Corp. Branch to buy time for her allies. Heathcliff urges her to surrender, but she detonates a bomb that kills her and injures many Sinners, rather than be tortured by K Corp.
