How Poise works
Poise is a self-buff that gives your attacks a chance to land Critical Hits, which add 20% damage. Higher Potency means a higher crit chance.
Poise has Potency and Count. Critical hit chance equals Potency times 5 percent, so 20 or more Potency means a guaranteed crit and any extra is wasted unless a passive or Gift spends it. A crit raises damage by 20%. Count drops by 1 on each Critical Hit and by 1 at turn end. That makes the stat finicky: more Potency burns through Count faster, and many Identities gain more Potency than Count, so Poise can expire before a crit lands. Multi-coin skills drain Count quickly and can reset the stack, so some Identities grant a fixed amount of Poise on certain skills to guarantee crits there. Poise is tied to the Pride affinity, and Poise teams are often Pride Resonance teams. It is mostly self-only, so Identities fit on any team, though a few E.G.O share Poise with allies. Because it multiplies damage rather than dealing fixed damage, it benefits from hitting damage type weaknesses.
Team tips
- ✦Poise shines in Mirror Dungeons and encounters with several skill slots.
- ✦Expect weaker results in Refraction Railway and boss fights, where the +20% crit bonus is small.
- ✦Many Poise Identities need Uptie IV to get enough Count.
- ✦Target enemy weaknesses, since Poise damage is multiplicative.
- How does Poise work in Limbus Company?
- Crit chance is Poise Potency times 5 percent, and a Critical Hit adds 20% damage. Count falls by 1 on each crit and at turn end.
- What is the Poise Potency cap for crits in Limbus Company?
- At 20 Potency your crit chance is fixed at 100%, so extra Potency does nothing unless a passive or E.G.O Gift consumes it.
- Why does my Poise run out in Limbus Company?
- Count is spent per crit and every turn end. If you have high Potency but low Count, Poise can expire before an attack crits.
