How Sinking works
Sinking drains Sanity (SP) from a unit each time it is hit. Enemies with no SP take Gloom damage instead, making it a flexible debuff and damage tool.
Sinking has Potency and Count. When the afflicted unit is hit, it takes fixed SP damage equal to Potency and loses 1 Count. Units without SP, such as Abnormalities, take fixed Gloom damage of the same size instead. Potency caps at 99. Against SP enemies, low SP wrecks their coin rolls, except for enemies that use negative coins, and it quickly triggers Low Morale and Panic, which can add debuffs like Fragile. Against non-SP enemies it works like Rupture with a very high ceiling, and the dump's example is a team of 6 using only 2-coin skills dealing 1188 Gloom damage per turn. It ignores Protection and level scaling but not Sin resistances, so Gloom weakness raises it, Gloom resistance lowers it, and Abnormalities that are Fatal to Gloom take double. Sinking is tied to the Gloom affinity. Butterfly is a unique Sinking variant, and Sinking Deluge converts stored Sinking into SP damage, with overflow beyond -45 SP dealt as Gloom HP damage.
Team tips
- ✦Use Sinking on enemies without SP or Abnormalities with a single part for the best damage.
- ✦Skip it against SP enemies that mainly use negative coins, since low SP stabilizes their skills.
- ✦Against groups with SP, expect slower kills, but clashes become much easier to win.
- ✦Avoid it into Abnormalities with many parts, where stacks are hard to build.
- How does Sinking work in Limbus Company?
- Each hit on a unit with Sinking deals fixed SP damage equal to Sinking Potency and removes 1 Count. If the unit has no SP, it takes Gloom damage instead.
- Does Sinking ignore resistances in Limbus Company?
- It ignores damage type resistances, buffs like Protection, and level scaling, but not Sin resistances. Gloom weakness increases it and Gloom resistance reduces it.
- What is Sinking Deluge in Limbus Company?
- Sinking Deluge deals SP damage equal to Sinking Count times Sinking Potency, then removes Sinking. If target SP is -45 or lower, the excess becomes Gloom HP damage.
