Story (spoilers)

Meursault came from N Corp., where he tried and failed to form an opinion on its ideals. He joined Limbus Company and followed orders so literally that he did nothing without being asked, once failing to report that a target had vanished. In Canto VI he weighs the mission against Heathcliff's safety and chooses Heathcliff, and uses his E.G.O to bind Erlking Heathcliff without being told. His silence is a conscious choice he gradually breaks from. In Canto V he mentions wandering in search of life's joys. Canto X: The Gaze Bearing is his own story.
